Barabaride is here and honestly we're not ready

Okay so Bandai just dropped a brand new battle toy called Barabaride, and if you've been anywhere near a Beyblade tournament or you still have Crush Gear Turbo trauma from being a kid, this one's gonna hit different



The concept "Car x Destruction" is stupid simple and we love it for that  


You build a little electric 4WD machine, customize it with swappable parts, charge it up, and send it out to absolutely wreck your opponent.

Every machine has three weak points, and when you land a hit on one, the whole thing explodes apart, armor, tires, everything just goes barabara (scattered), which is literally where the name comes from.
Then you snap it back together and go again.

No cooldown, no mercy.



The first three machines BR-01 Storm Falcon, BR-02 Rush Stallion, and BR-03 Fury Lizard are in the house now.

Storm Falcon already snagged an Excellence Award at the Japan Toy Awards 2026 after its debut at the CoroCoro Soul Festival, so the hype behind this launch is very much earned.


Okay So How Do You Actually Play This Thing

Think Tamiya Mini 4WD's chaotic little cousin that also wants to be a Beyblade.


The build:
Every machine breaks down into four parts, cowl (the shell), chassis, bumper, and tires. All swappable. All mixable. You can absolutely start Frankensteining parts across machines the second you own more than one, which, let's be real, you will.



The power:
No hand-launching here. Machines get charged and sent off using the Ride Charger, a little handheld device that does exactly what it sounds like.

Charge it, place it, watch it go.



The arena:
Battles go down on a dedicated arena disc, with the Fold Colosseum as the starter stage



The win con:
Land a hit on one of the three weak points hard enough and your opponent's machine bursts apart on the spot. It's not game over though, snap the pieces back on and you're back in it.


The Tech Specs Nobody Told You About

Rock-paper-scissors relationship between the three styles: Upper beats Dash, Dash beats Spin, Spin beats Upper.

Here's where it gets good for the people who actually read the back of the box.
All three starters share the same Alpha Chassis platform Bandai's calling it "balanced," meaning it's built to be a fair customization base no matter which style you're leaning into, rather than favoring one playstyle out of the gate.

Dash Style — BR-03 Fury Lizard

• Power: 3x AA batteries
• Colorway: Green and silver
• Body parts: Cowl, Alpha Chassis, bumper, tires
• Build notes: Rear-heavy design thanks to a thruster-style rear armor piece, which shifts the weight balance toward the back for stability during ramming attacks
• Bumper: Twin missile pod-shaped weapons, engineered specifically to strike and flip an opponent's weak point on contact
• Tires: Large-diameter C36 tires with a three-claw design built to do three jobs at once: strike weak points directly, bounce off arena walls and opponents, and maximize grip for dash acceleration
• Playstyle: Straight-line ramming and charging; less finesse, more mass times velocity
  
  

🔵 Spin Style — BR-02 Rush Stallion

• Power: 3x AAA batteries
• Colorway: Blue and black
• Body parts: Shell, Alpha Chassis, bumper, tires
• Build notes: Armor wraps around all four wheels, which lowers the center of gravity and keeps the machine lightweight for stability
• Bumper: Wide, U-shaped, with a shorter front-to-back depth the shape is what enables tight spinning maneuvers instead of straight-line movement
• Tires: Large-diameter H36 tires with single-point contact, thinner than the other two styles to cut down friction and boost rotational speed. The single point of contact is also optimized for bounce-based attacks off the arena floor
• Playstyle: Rotational stability and grinding this machine wants to stay upright and keep spinning rather than trade one big hit

Upper Style — BR-01 Storm Falcon

• Power: 3x AA batteries
• Colorway: Red and white
• Body parts: Cowl, Alpha Chassis, bumper, tires
• Build notes: Two large wing-shaped armor pieces are designed to slip underneath an opponent's chassis for a surprise flipping attack
• Bumper: The "Twin Blades" bumper is fully reversible mount it one way for an aggressive Low Position Mode, flip it for a more agile High Position Mode
• Tires: R W32 & L W32 tires use an easy-press two-piece design that can also be mounted in either direction, changing the attack behavior depending on orientation
• Playstyle: The only style where your fighting behavior is determined by literal part orientation same tires and bumper, completely different machine depending on how you build it. Makes sense this is the one that took home the Japan Toy Award it rewards people who actually experiment with the build instead of running it stock.

Barabaride's got the break-apart spectacle, the swappable parts economy, and the head-to-head arena format that made Crush Gear and Beyblade X into full-blown obsessions.

Official tournaments are already teased too, so this isn't just a toy, Bandai's clearly building a whole scene around it.
